The Software Engineer will be responsible for providing system architect, design and development support as a member of the Sponsor tool development and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Team. The Team is responsible for providing operations/maintenance and new development support for the commercial off the shelf (COTS) tool. The Sponsor’s tool provides functionality to asset and inventory management business processes. The Sponsor’s tool is an implementation of Maximo, which is tailored for the Sponsor’s specific needs and integrated with other Sponsor business systems. The primary goal of Sponsor tool is to improve Sponsor IT asset tracking and provide data for auditable financial statements. To meet this purpose, the tool manages the development, implementation, and support of enterprise IT application. The Sponsor’s tool is seeking Software Engineer support assistance with the development/O&M activities associated with the implementation. Software Engineer must analyze Sponsor needs and develop software solutions. Software Engineer researches, designs, develops, and tests operating systems level software, compilers, and network distribution software for business, and general computing applications. Sets operational specifications and formulates and analyzes software requirements. The Sponsor seeks development assistance from individuals who are creative team players, who have demonstrated knowledge, experience, and capabilities to produce high quality multilevel IT products.

Requirements

Mandatory Skills

1. Software development experience to include: Extending Objects, Integration with External Systems (Management Information files - MIF), Web Services and Troubleshooting. 2. Demonstrated experience integrating commercial off the shelf (COTS) products using Java (Eclipse Integrated Development Environment - IDE) Programming and Debugging. 3. Demonstrated experience working with Oracle. 4. Experience working with and integrating WebSphere Application Server Development.

Desired Skills

1. Demonstrated experience with inventory management development applications. 2. Demonstrated experience with Android mobile device development. 3. Familiarization with Barcode scanners/tablets and wireless development. 4. Demonstrated knowledge and relevant work experiences with data management (DBA experience). 5. Demonstrated relevant work experience using indexing, text-search and retrieval tools (such as, Lucene). 6. Demonstrated on-the-job experience using Microsoft Access and Structured Query Language (SQL) for data manipulation and extracting in order to support metrics and reporting. 7. Demonstrated relevant experience working on large, enterprise level software deployed projects/programs. 8. Demonstrated experience with software development. 9. Experience with traditional and Agile Project Management Frameworks and process improvement methodologies. Demonstrated ability to work as a team player as part of a multi-functional organization. 10. Demonstrated experience providing operations and maintenance (O&M) support to commercial off the shelf (COTS) products. 11. Ability to work independently and take the initiative in a fast paced organization/team within a fluid, flexible, and asymmetrical environment and have the ability to utilize technical expertise to assist in coordinating and managing the resolution of full spectrum software and hardware IT issues both internally and externally.
